"Everyone knows they're going to die," he said again,
"but nobody believes it.
If we did, we would do things differently."
..
..
Every day,
have a little bird on our shoulder that asks,
' Is today the day?
Am I doing all I need to do?
Am I being the person I want to be?"
"but nobody believes it.
If we did, we would do things differently."

Every day,
have a little bird on our shoulder that asks,
' Is today the day?
Am I doing all I need to do?
Am I being the person I want to be?"

You know, my adoptive father's death when I was a girl (16) has had that exact effect. That "scar" reminds me often of the fragility of life. Most of the time it works to motivate me positively. Occasionally, I must remind myself 'That was then, this is now!'
So, what are your plans for this day?
Jules, so right on, that is an excellent way of going through life, that's the only way we are living now. :)
great post!!!!! Its very important to actually live our life...and be the best we can be because we truly never know if we are going to be given another day
Thank you for that... today is a good day, Peanut is better and it reminds me to drink in their life and make mine such they can say they were in the moment... does this make sense??? to summarize...happy day!
YES, great quotes... and ones I never tire of hearing to remind me to never settle...

That first quote is stunning. We don't really believe it, do we? I wonder how many of our choices would be entirely different.
