"The Naked Earth Is Warm With Spring"

I think that no matter how old or infirm I may become, I will always plant a large garden in the spring. Who can resist the feelings of hope and joy that one gets from participating in nature's rebirth? ~Edward Giobbi
~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
There are two things that signify hope for the future to meThe first is raising a child
The second is planting a garden
I garden bare footed - I love getting my feet in the earth.

The naked earth is warm with Spring,
And with green grass and bursting trees
Leans to the sun's kiss glorying,
And quivers in the sunny breeze.

Oh my cow, now that is a garden plot!! I am way jealous. Please share more, what do you plant? We have the tiniest space so I've taken my flower beds for some of the vegetable plants. Barefoot is the best way.

Beautiful poem, it really sums it up well :)

gardens are amazing. i love to grow tomatoes, my grand mother said I grew the best tomatoes, but the only bad thing is that I hate tomatoes.

weird.

I love your garden, it reminds me of my grandparents place back home, it's so great that you get the kids involved, they'll have great memories and will learn a few things as well. I love being barefoot in the dirt :)

Julochka - I thought of that when I chose the title! I will have to go for the word sex tomorrow - should I put it in the title?

I'm afraid of the worms when I'm barefoot...LOL
Your garden looks lovely! I've been working on mine too :)
And, I love the new banner up there...so springy and pretty!

Have a Happy Day, Julie :)

I also love feeling the dirt between my toes. :) Your garden will be marvelous, I'm sure!

Yea for Gardening! Love the pictures...what a huge huge plot! What are you planting? Who will be the weeder? I love the outhouse...it's white and beautiful! I am envious. I can't imagine going barefoot. I wear my clogs and sandels without socks and my feet get filthy! I have to soak and scrub them to get them clean, then re-cut my toenails to get them clean. Want more pics as your garden grows.

Hi Jules,
how did you get that soil so fine and friable?
It looks like anything will grow...
Have you got a few acres of land?

Happy Days

Oh, and also-the other sign of hope for the future is to marry again. Hopeful, faithful, optimistic. And just a little bit stupid. But oh, so happy.
