(my oldest. The QB)
Football is, after all, a wonderful way to get rid of your
aggressions without going to jail for it. ~Heywood Hale Brown
(my son is the one doing the tackling)
Let's face it, you have to have a slightly recessive gene
that has a little something to do with the brain to go out on the
football field and beat your head against other
human beings on a daily basis.

Looking good! Hope he enjoys it, and you too :)
how thrilling! is he loving it?
um, i'm not sure the quarterback is supposed to be doing the tackling...don't they have people for that?
Deb, he is getting to that point. A lot of sore mornings and some concerns (that only he could come up with) but yes, he is loving it now
Julie- ha! ha! at that point I think he was playing Free Safety ?? I was surprised that his tiny self could get anyone down!
Cool to know your son plays both ways in football...builds character. I chuckled at your conflicting quotes. ;)
There is a certain satisfaction that comes from smacking headlong into other men on the football field and defeating them. You don't get that in soccer, where instead you get your reward for throwing yourself to the ground and crying that you've just been fouled by whatever opposing player is nearest.
I'll bet none of the other football moms at the game could boast a "shiner" like you, Jules! They probably thought: No wonder that kid's a "beast", his momma is obviously no one to mess with! ;-)
