I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of
the Lord
in the land of the living.

Mom...You Are a Country Girl

Son: Mom, I think you are a country girl. Not a city girl.

Me: Well, I try to be son.

Son: Yeah. I think you are.

Me: Thank you.

Son: Yeah, cuz city girls are all pretty and stuff...

Me: WHAT? You don't think I am pretty?... geez... thanks!

Son: NO, I don't think you ACT all pretty and such. You are pretty, you just don't act like they do on t.v. when they act all pretty and from the city so......

Me: Oh, Ok. Well good. Because a person can be pretty without acting like that. Because when you "act" pretty is about the time you start looking ugly.

Son: That is why I said you are a country girl. I want to be a country boy. But, you know that.

Me: I wouldn't have it any other way son.

Welcome to my neighborhood

Photo #2This is where I live. We chose to live here because of all the trees.

Our house is backed by this field/farm. So, although our property ends it feels like it stretches on forever.

Photo A Day

I have been invited to join in the 365 day project. I am working on getting into my flickr account (when you forget your password and have it sent to your email address, it does you no good when you no longer have the alternate email address that they send it to).

I am falling fast behind while dealing with this S.N.A.F.U. .

So on January 7th I present my first photo of the day. In honor of Julochka who invited me to join in this pic is straight off the camera unaltered.

NOW - if you want to laugh go read THIS.

Collaborative Photo Project: New

Jules

Sojourner

Let's review for those who are new or forgetful:

Debra @ Sojourner and I have been partaking in a Collaborative Photo Project for over two months now. Each week we chose a word. We then each take a photo that represents this word. Only once in all these weeks have our photos matched.

What I meant to say

What I meant to say... oh this is going to be fun.
(you can find out the particulars by clicking on the $5 link above)

To the guy at the post office who couldn't find my "Delivery Confirmation" package
(which is obviously important, and there for the person paid for such a request....)
What I said was:
"That's o.k. it wasn't your fault it was lost. Call me when you find it."
What I meant to say was:
"Find my freakin' package buddy before I grab you by the collar and shake one out of you. NOW!!!!!"

vi.sualize.us

To the lady at Target whose till rebooted right after my cart FULL of stuff was rung up and I was swiping my overly abused debit card ...
What I said was:
"It's not your fault. Let's just do this together and get it over with" as she re-rung every item again.
What I meant to say was:
"I am going to be LATE to pick my son up from pre-school now and I am going to look like a neglectful parent who will get the stink eye from the teacher because your dang computer puttered out." To Target what I should say is "As much money as the world spends at your store (I alone pay the light bill, I swear) you cold buy new computers!!!! 30 YEARS OLD IS TOO OLD!!!

To my friend who is having issues with a couple of her friends.
I said was:
" You need to be above it all and just sit back and let it alone"
What I meant to say is:
" Those ladies are acting like 13 yr old BITCHES and you are better off without them - run girl run! I haven't cared much for either of them ever... However, I have always loved you. Run!!!!!"

vi.sualize.us

When my husband asked where his clean underwear were (since there weren't any in his drawer)
What I said was
" They are downstairs in the small wicker basket right in front of the dryer dear. Can you get them, or should I run down and grab them for you." even though he sat downstairs and watched me fold laundry as we watched tv together the night before and knew I was working on laundry
What I meant to say is:
"F*ck you *sshole, do your own d*mn laundry and you will know exactly where it is." (please note: hubby suggested this one ;)

Oh I best stop here for this week... but, Ahhh yes people, this is going to be fun.
Every Wednesday morning I will be playing along. You too can join the fun.

Due to this change: I will be delaying our Collaborative Photo Project until Wednesday afternoon/evening time.

Dirty Dozen

Confession time.
I got this idea from Moments of Perfect Clarity
who got it from Polly at Sotto Voce (Friday Confession) who.....
yeah. you get it.

I am calling mine

The Dirty Dozen

1) I am not a techie. Not even close. I remember asking julochka how everyone at blog camp could be online at the same time. I just now realized that wireless routers were available for residential properties and after a few tries got one hooked up in our house and linked to Dearest computer. (It will probably save our marriage)

2) I feel a bit righteous and above others when I wake up and it is -32.1 degrees. I feel a bit hardier, and stronger than everyone else. (I, in reality, should feel like a crazy person who isn't smart enough to move away)

3) My pants are getting looser but the scale keeps going up. I wonder where the extra weight is going? Can I pick? I chose my boobs.

4) I ignore my kids when they yell my name for the first couple of times. I am hoping maybe they will solve the problem on their own if I give them time (this so far hasn't worked)

5) I look at people who don't have kids with a stink eye when they say they are "sooooo busy" that they just don't know how they can find time to do xyz.

6) There is enough dust collecting around my house to come up with some creative dust bunny craft project .

7) I have loved having my kids around this break. In fact I have lost my patience with them a minimal amount of time and have found more enjoyment with them around the house than I thought I would..... but..... I am so ready for them to go back to school and get back on a schedule.

8) Me, the health nut has been tanning once a week at my friend's gym. It makes me feel better. 12 minutes a week - is that enough for cancer? I haven't tanned in a bed since high school, etc etc..... (covering ears at answer).

9) When I watch a movie like Wanted I feel like I too could be a spy and kick some major *ss.

10) I have been thinking about getting a tattoo. I waited until after I was 35. I told myself if I still wanted one then I would consider it. Since it is a lifetime decision I knew I shouldn't get one in my 20's and Lordy a pregnant/breastfeeding/ mom lacking sleep can't make a good decision!!! But, now at the age of 36 I am still considering it. (a tree, with my children's name scrolled into the branches)

11) I don't like sharing things - not physical things, rather experiences ... like a trip or a book, a movie or an evening out. I feel like sharing it takes away part of it from me. The things that I really enjoy I want to keep to myself sometimes. Strang? Selfish?

12) I can't. can not. no way. can I handle people standing over my shoulder while I am on the computer. I HATE it (proper time to use that word). I get the hebegebeees! To make it worse they lean on the computer chair sending me off balance (since I usually sit on my feet). Don't do it. Don't. You will be in my grudge book as #1.
