The Weight Of The World

I may offend some people with this post... just let me rant, stick with me, come back tomorrow and all will be well ;)

I am worried. I am worried that people are expecting so much from one man. One man can not change the world.

I am thrilled that people have found hope, the tide is changing, confidence is boosted, happiness is growing, however you want to say it.... But, to expect one man to walk into this new position and make it
all right is CRAZY!

WE need to be the change we want to see. We as
a nation can not sit back and expect things to turn on their own. (obviously you or I couldn't walk into the middle east and put a stop to the war, but, follow me here...) "God provides food for the birds, but, he doesn't throw it into their nests..."

What I hope happens is that we feel better as a whole. This will spark us, Americans, to go out and make changes, to help ourselves help the nation. After all this man is just that, a man - one human being taking on the world. Shouldering the weight of the world is for gods, not humans.

I agree that one person cannot do it all, but the country needs a person who is willing to try. It is up to us to continue to pressure our government to work for us, the people. At least we now have a chance.

Well said. I did get to watch the end of his speech. I was very pleased that he didn't try to cover sh*t with flowers. He said basically what I am saying here, that we as a people need to pull together to be the change we want to see. I am excited for his term in office. I just worry about people's expectations!

You are right. We are expecting too much from him but we have to help him as well. If he will be trying to make changes we have to be his back and do not let him down.
In my opinion that people deserted politics and making decisions thinking nothing could be changed but we all witnessed what happened when people found some one at least is willing to initiate that change.

Nice blog by the way. Glad to find it by accident.

You're quite right. He's going to need our help, every day.

Yes...very high expectations are placed on this man. However, we must all be accountable. We got the change we wanted...now we need to be the change we want to see.

He set himself up for that and now he will have to deliver, the world is watching and dancing in the streets....

He made EIGHTY promises during his campaign, time to deliver.
Not to talk about all the people that financed his campaign and are now waiting for payback, from all over the world, because he allowed ILLEGAL financial donations.
America, you created a monster...

Right on! I like to think of them as goals rather than promises. The point is that we have someone now that can hold a vision of an America that a lot of us want. I feel very hopeful and challenged to do my small part. We all need to be the change. I feel very happy that he is leading the change.
